WHAT AM I DOING? A LOT

2012 Has already been my busiest yet! I am working with singer/ songwriter Carson Hill along side my production partner, Gabe Nicholson, producing her beautiful song, Beautiful Heart. Go to the video section to check it out! I am also getting ready to release a short album called "Endlessly" written by myself and Gabe. It is a three song EP with a remix by Clayton Worbeck. I always have Clayton remix a song on my records. They are sonic works of art in themselves. We are very proud of "Endlessly" and look forward our fans hearing it.

I am also producing Dr. Wayne King's album, "Chainmaker" This is a Rock album and features drummer Ryan Hoyle (Collective Soul) and my session guitarist and collaborator Larry Marciano (American Pie 2, Disney). This record is strongly pulling from early 90's Rock in the vein of Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and the like but we are updating it and putting a modern spin on it production-wise. Wayne is a great friend of mine and we went to dental school together but he can also write a great Rock and Roll song. It is sounding great already!

Many thanks to Friends of Stanly County Senior Center for having Gabe Nicholson and I perform and do a presentation on or songwriting and music process. It was a great crowd of about 150 folks! We were able to perform a couple of our songs, do a Power Point vid and watch the Carolina Camera episode about "The Singing Dentist from Norwood." We had a great time!!

2012 is going to be amazingly productive musically! I have signed on with music placement service Music Supervisor to get my music placed in film... I recently had a track, Living Past, placed in the film "Catch of a Lifetime." I am working with upcoming Country artist, Carson Hill, producing along side my long-time collaborator and bass player Gabe Nicholson. Carson is an amazing talent that is sure to be streaming on terrestrial radio soon. I am also moving into Pro Tools finally to help my song-writing and producing skills fluorish. It has been amazing already with the immediate access to these amazing musical tools.

I am also working for Julian Safrit (Shutter 16 magazine) on organizing and promoting The Moonlight Burns Festival. This will be a Rock show in Charlotte, NC next year to benefit the helping branch of The Grammy organization called Musicares. Musicares assists artists in need with medical, dental, and addiction treatment needs. It's a great cause and I hope to see you out next Spring!

I am writing and producing new music all the time. Just put my song One More Second up on i-Tunes and am waiting for the remix by Clayton Worbeck. I really expect 2012 to be a great year musically and other-wise. I hope you all have a production and happy new year!! Mark

We just wrapped on Carson Hill's debut full band production songs with Brad Smith of Blind Melon as producer. I acted as executive producer/ consultant on this project (see my blog). We are now getting the songs out for some record labels to hear! Carson is an amazing talent and I think you will be hearing from her soon!!

This going to be a fun night of music, games, great food, and drink specials to celebrate the release of my remix album called HELIX. It's at the Pontiac Pointe restaurant in Albemarle, NC on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 8PM! $5 Cover includes a CD and entry into the raffle.

I am playing in the Vyzion Showcase with Vyzion Entertainment out of Raleigh, NC. There will be three artists from their roster playing the annual People Fest in Historic Uptown Wadesboro at F&M McLendon Entertainment Area. Show starts at 3:00!!

Still have to preview the artwork for my CD Helix and then off to replication! I am planning a CD release party after it's finished. I hope you can make it out. Also, moving along with the editing for the "One More Second" video. Hopefully, John Foutz and I will be getting that up for you on YouTube soon!
In discussions with an exciting new record label out of Raleigh, NC... keeping my fingers crossed that goes well.

My song "Living Past" is in the indie film "Catch of a Lifetime" which will be released at any moment. I will keep you posted on where you can catch that movie as soon as I find out.

I need peeple to be in my video! Whatdya say?! On Monday, August 30 at 7:45PM at The Sunset Club at 1820 South Blvd in Charlotte. Just show up before 8 and wear nice clothes! No shorts, tennis shoes or hats. Be prepared to mull around and look excited.:) Divakar from 106.5 WEND radio station will be there and the bar will be open for this event. I got the master back for HELIX and I have artist, Mystic, working on the artwork for my first remix album produced by Clayton Worbeck of Stayte and Revco! This is a five song EP with all the songs mixed and mastered by Clayton. He also did all the instruments on my single, One More Second which had it's worldwide debut on radio station WEND 106.5 FM in Charlotte. Thanks to Divakar for spinning the song on "90 Minutes with Divakar!" The song has also played on Indiana podcast www.mothpod.com by Zack Daggy. Thanks again Zack! Zack voted my album, Living Past, in the top 20 Indie albums of 2009. One More Second was also accepted to premier licensing catalog at musicsupervisor.com. Keep your fingers crossed that I get a placement.

John Foutz, Justin Kates, and I have moved forward on filming of the One More Second video at Sunset Club in Charlotte. We have all the primary actors committed including Vanessa Ore as the main character. Check her out! She is beautiful and talented and very motivated to make this a great video! We have one more location to arrange and we are on our way!!

Thanks to Braden Harwood and Tim Harris for organizing and sponsoring the first Showcase of Songwriters in Stanly County! I had a great time and loved hearing all the talented musicians we have in this county. We are going to do it again in July so plan to make it out!

This Friday at Pontiac Pointe starting at 7PM to 11PM! Come enjoy local original music from the area with several genres. Each artist will perform 2 to 4 original songs. It will be a great opportunity to hear some new music and a great networking opportunity for musicians. Pontiac Pointe is in Albemarle, NC on Main Street.

My new single, "One More Second", which was produced and played by Clayton Worbeck will make it's worldwide broadcast premier on Charlotte, NC radio staton WEND 106.5 The End on Sunday, June 20 beginning at 8:30PM EST. It will also be broadcast online at www.1065.com. The single will spin on the show "90 Minutes with Divakar."
