2011 Wrap Up!

Posted on November 11, 2011 with 0 comments
This has been and incredibly exciting year!! Gabe Nicholson and I were able to write and produce together on several projects. Our song, Living Past, was featured in the Matthew Ashford (Days of Our Lives) feature film Catch of a Lifetime, and I met Rami Jaffee and Gary Jules before a Foo Fighters concert in Charlotte!
The final goals for me are to finish producing Country singer Carson Hill's song Beautiful Heart along side Gabe as well as Braden Harwood's Bring Me Home. I also am collaborating with Clayton Worbeck again for a remix of Endlessly.
I did a solo production of a song for rapper/ pop singer Comz called Leaving Now with Bob Engel at the engineering helm.
It has been my most diverse and exciting year musically and we still have a lot to do!!!
Thanks for reading!!

Endlessly

Gabe Nicholson and I just finished this acoustic pop song called "Endlessly." We are very proud of it! We played all the guitars and did the vocals.  Mike Szymczyk played drums and the song was engineered (tracked and mixed) by Bob Engel in Charlotte. I am streaming the entire song right here! I hope you enjoy it.
I have been playing live a little more than usual lately. Two gigs in two weeks is a lot for me. I did a wedding last week and a fund-raiser acoustic set this past weekend with my guitarist Seth and shared the stage with 13 year old singer-songwriter prodigy, Carson Hill. I hope to have some more stuff coming soon.
In the meantime I am working on a new video and CD cover art for Endlessly. I will keep ya posted. Mark

Carson Hill Project

My accountant, Catherine Johnson, sent me a YouTube video of a little girl singing at an Ansonville BBQ last year. Maybe in October or so. I was (and am) very busy so, quite frankly, I just never opened the link. Well, in November 2010 she called me and said, " Did you ever see Carson's video?" I said "I'll go do it now!" I must admit it was out of obligation. I thought, "I'll go watch the cute little girl so I can say ' Yeah, I saw her that was great!'"

Well I watched that video with my daughter Greyson and our jaws dropped to the floor... not just because she is 13 and can play the guitar but because she is so incredibly GREAT! Her vocals are as smooth as silk and she has a command of her performance and stage presence that belies her short existence on this earth. Now, I fancy myself a force to be reckoned with when it comes to music networking. So, I thought, who do I know that can not only give honest and useful feedback in the music industry but who has worked with young songwriters [...]
